SubscribeOptoma has announced an expansion of its line-up of mid-brightness pro installation projectors with the ZU607TST, ZU607T, and ZU707T.
All are WUXGA laser models with 1920x1200 resolution and 16:10 native aspect ratio, and are promoted respectively at 6,000, 6,500, and 7000 lumens of brightness using an unspecified measurement type. These translate to 4,800 ANSI lumens for the ZU607TST, 5,200 ANSI lumens for the ZU607T, and 5,900 ANSI lumens the ZU707T. The new units are targeted at conference rooms, higher education classrooms and lecture halls, museums, houses of worship, digital signage, and immersive installations.
The ZU607TST, with its 0.58:1 short-throw lens, can throw an image up to 300-inches diagonal from 3.75 meters (12.3 feet) and projects a 100-inch diagonal image from just over a meter, or about 3.3 feet away. Installation flexibility is further supported by lens shift (-100 to 110% vertical, ±4% horizontal) and both vertical and horizontal keystone adjustment (up to 15 degrees, with auto vertical keystone and 4-corner correction available).
The ZU607T and ZU707T offer up a 1.6X manual zoom with a 1.2:1 to 1.92:1 throw ratio, corresponding to a throw range of approximately 51 inches (for a 31.5 inch image) to approximately 308 inches (for a 301.8-inch diagonal). Vertical and Horizontal lens shift are provided (-100 to 120% vertical, ±10% horizontal), along with up to 30% of keystone correction.
All three models feature Optoma's airtight DuraCore laser engine, which boasts a IP6X dust rating and up to 30,000 hours of life in Eco mode. The projectors are specified for 24/7 operation, and feature 360-degree orientation and a portrait mode. Auto turn-on allows the projectors to be turned on when power is applied via a main swtich, and auto turn-off ensures energy savings when the projector is left unattended and no use is detected for a period of time.
Optoma claims 300,000:1 rated contrast, as well as compatibility with 4K HDR and HLG signals, and 3D playback. An available Game picture mode will optimize images for color and shadow detail while gaming, though it is not promoted to have any effect on input lag.
Robust connectivity is supported with two 4K-compliant HDMI ports and a 4K HDMI output port for daisy-chaining an additional display. Additionally, a dedicated HDBaseT RJ45 port can be used for digital video input and control over long distance Cat cable, and legacy video inputs are supplied for both VGA (two 15-pin inputs) and composite video via RCA. A 5V/1.5 amp USB output is provided to power a streaming dongle or other device. There are two 3.5mm audio inputs and a 3.5mm audio out, as well as pair of on-board 15-watt speakers. A 3-pin 3D-Sync output is provided for feeding an outboard emitter. Along with the HDBaseT port, there is a dedicated RJ45 LAN port, an R-232C port (9-pin), and a 12-volt trigger output. All three projectors come with a full-size backlit remote.
The projectors are also compatible with control platforms including PJLink, Crestron Connected, and Extron IP Link, and fleet management is supported with Optoma's own Optoma Management Suite software platform. OMS provides a remote platform to monitor, manage, and diagnose multiple displays in real time, as well as the ability to optimize performance and broadcast emergency messages or announcements across on-site projectors.
The ZU607TST, ZU607T, and ZU707T are relatively compact and lightweight for their class and share similar dimensions and weight, coming in at 14.7 x 4.6 x 11.9 x inches (WHD) and 13.9 pounds. They are available now for estimated street prices of $4,199, $3,499, and $3,999 respectively.
